The Forge Entertainment

The Forge is a new independent drama production company, established in June 2014 by George Faber. Its aim is to develop and produce original and innovative television drama, working in collaboration with the UK’s leading and emerging creative talent. 
The Forge currently has three production commissions:- National Treasure, a 4 part mini-series for Channel 4, The Last Post, a 6 part returning drama series, co-produced with Bonafide Films for BBC1 and The ABC, a pre-watershed returning drama series for Channel 4.

The Team

George Faber
Managing Director

George founded Company Pictures in 1998 and together with Charlie Pattinson ran the company for 15 years. During that time it became one of the most successful and highly regarded UK drama indies, winning Golden Globes, EMMYs, BAFTAs and RTS Awards for its wide-ranging productions including Shameless, Skins, Elizabeth I, Generation Kill, The Shadow Line, The Devil’s Whore, The Village and Wild At Heart. Prior to his time at Company Pictures, George was Head of Single Drama for the BBC.

George Ormond
Executive Producer

Before joining The Forge, George was an executive producer at the BBC, where he developed a raft of projects, including the forthcoming adaptation of War and Peace for BBC1 / The Weinstein Company. He produced Sarah Phelps’ BAFTA and EMMY winning adaptation of Great Expectations, Sandy Welch’s adaptation of Emma, two series of Silent Witness, and EastEnders.

Mark Pybus
Executive Producer

Mark joins The Forge from Company Pictures where he combined the roles of Head of Business Affairs and Producer. During his time there, he produced Uncle Adolf, Wallis & Edward, Einstein & Eddington and Women in Love. Most recently he produced the adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s novels ‘Wolf Hall’ and ‘Bring Up the Bodies’ for the BBC.

Kate Sinclair
Executive Producer

Kate joins the Forge from Company Pictures where she was also an Executive Producer. Her current slate includes The Miniaturist, The Spinning Heart and The Three and she will continue to specialise in sourcing and developing projects primarily but not exclusively from books. Previous notable successes include finding Slumdog Millionaire and Salmon Fishing in the Yemen as unpublished manuscripts as part of ten years in the film industry for Film 4, UKFC, Free Range Films, Kudos Pictures, Seesaw and Aardman. Prior to this she was an award winning Theatre Director working at theRSC, The Young Vic and the National Theatre in Poland as well as being an Associate Director in two buildings. Kate is freelance and also has her own company Feet Films Ltd which currently has four feature films in development.

Annelise Unitt
Company Manager

Before joining The Forge in 2014, Annelise worked for the Executive team at North One Television. In addition she worked as Communications Manager there, looking after all aspects of press, publicity and marketing for the business. Bringing her extensive experience of the industry, Annelise is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company.

Anna Price
Development Executive

Anna joins The Forge from Company Pictures, where her credits included The Village, Moonfleet, Truckers and Wolf Hall. She has worked as a development consultant in film finance, and script edited the work of a number of leading writers including Jimmy McGovern, Allan Cubitt, Michael Frayn, Ashley Pharoah, Peter Flannery, William Ivory, Jim Cartwright and Peter Straughan.

Toby Bentley
Development Executive

Toby joins The Forge from AbbottVision, where he developed and script edited Paul Abbott’s No Offence for AbbottVision and Channel 4. Prior to this, Toby was the Senior Script Editor at EastEnders, worked in drama development for the BBC and trained as a producer with BBC Radio Drama.

Florence Walker
Development Assistant

Florence joins The Forge from Mainstreet Pictures, where she provided administrative and creative support to Laura Mackie and Sally Haynes’, along with reading scripts. Florence started at production company ‘Armoury London’ where she worked on projects for Nickelodeon, Adidas and Skype. Florence has interned on the arts desk of The Observer and The Independent and with the production team of arts organisation Artangel. She then went on to script read for Kudos, Shine, Channel 4 Drama and Pathe.

Alex Kazamia
Office Assistant/Researcher

Alex joins The Forge after graduating from Warwick University where he studied a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. In addition to his role as Office Assistant providing support to the Forge team, Alex also carries out research across the company’s development slate.
